Questions about hours and appointments
What are your office hours?
Our official office hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday – Friday. However, we are dedicated to providing the very best service to our customers and we understand that this means making sure we’re available to help! So, whilst we cannot guarantee we’ll answer your call later in the evenings or on the weekends, there’s a good chance we will!
We strive to ensure someone is always available to help you any time, day or night, and to this end all incoming calls are diverted to multiple locations when unanswered, including directly to technicians on their mobile phones! – If the phone’s still ringing... don’t give up! It means we’re still routing the call to different locations to get you an answer! If you get through to an answering service... USE IT! You may find you get a call back within a very short space of time!!
P.S. If you’re worried about your bill, don’t be! All you’ll ever pay is the standard rate (local / national depending on your location); we pay to divert the calls!
How quickly can I get an appointment?
With our Emergency First Aid service we aim to offer a same day appointment to whomever needs one. On rare occasions however, a combination of factors (such as number of staff available, high demand for same day service, lightning strikes!! Etc) can mean that we’ll be unable to get someone to you for a same day appointment.
Questions about online sales: payment, lead time, delivery and more
When I try to pay on your website I get redirected to a different site entirely! Is this normal? Why do you do it? Is it secure?
Fraud
Whenever a payment, or more specifically payment details (e.g. card numbers, account numbers, sort codes, verification numbers etc) are sent over the internet, there could be the potential for online theft or fraud.
Encryption
To help prevent this all reputable ecommerce websites and online merchant services will use a secure, encrypted connection – This is also often the case when entering other sensitive / personal information such as a username and password. You’ll be able to tell when this is happening by signs and symbols displayed in your browser. These signs will vary depending on the browser you’re using, from a padlock symbol in the address bar to a change in colour. One of the easiest ways to tell will be an “s” on the end of the normal “http” precursor that appears before any web address, where the “s” stands for secure.
Redirection IS Normal
The problem for many is that it is difficult to determine just how secure a connection is. For this reason we choose to use one of the world’s biggest and most trusted services: PayPal. Payment is made through their own site and servers so you can be confident that your details are kept completely confidential. You won’t need a PayPal account to send payment online!
Why Redirect?
Rather than accept payment directly over our servers, we redirect you to the PayPal website where literally thousands and thousands of online transactions take place every day. Put simply, we’re leaving it to the experts – in 2009 total transaction value exceeded 71 billion US$ and this figure continues to show strong growth year on year. We pay PayPal a fee for every transaction they process on our behalf, this way both you as a customer and JCmiles as a merchant can rest assured that your payment is 100% safe and secure.
PayPal – Buyer Protection & Further Information
There is another big benefit gained from utilising the PayPal payment portal for you as customers: The PayPal buyer protection scheme. PayPal safeguard all payments they process (for tangible products – not services) so that should you encounter a problem, your money is safe and can be refunded by them directly.
More information can be found on the PayPal website. More specific details relating to the above can be found here:
